As the Founder and President of my high school’s first student-run newspaper, I pioneered a platform dedicated to student voices. This initiative required me to design the editorial structure from the ground up, bringing together writing, design, and editorial teams from each grade. The newspaper covers everything from student life and school events to critical discussions on global issues, ensuring that the voices of my peers are represented in a professional and engaging format. Leading the school paper reflects my broader passion for journalism as a means of empowerment, to document, inform, and give a voice to perspectives that often go unheard.

Beyond traditional writing, I extended my communication skills into the world of STEM advocacy. As Co-Head of Media for the BridgeBot Robotics Team, I was responsible for managing media outreach, creating promotional content, documenting competitions and events, and building community interest in robotics. My role not only strengthened my creative skills in digital media but also gave me insight into how journalism and communication can spark wider interest in STEM education.

I led a Breast Cancer Fundraising Bake Sale in partnership with the Al Jalila Foundation, raising funds for women who could not afford treatment. This initiative combined organization, promotion, and leadership, resulting in over $1,000 raised and more than 30 personalized student notes sent directly to patients. The project taught me how community efforts, when paired with empathy and awareness, can bring tangible hope to those in need.

As Newsletter Lead for my school’s Eco-Committee, I combined journalism with environmental advocacy. I published a monthly newsletter covering recycling efforts, eco-friendly habits, and global environmental news. My work was recognized with an official certificate for leadership in this role, which reaffirmed my ability to use writing as a tool for raising awareness and inspiring collective action.

I am the President of the Create for Kids chapter at my school, part of a wider student-led nonprofit dedicated to supporting pediatric patients through art and creative care kits. In this role, I organize donation drives, coordinate volunteers, manage outreach, and ensure that our chapter meets the national organization’s standards for impact. By leading this chapter, I have learned how to build a team, work with hospitals, and use creativity to bring comfort to children facing medical challenges.

Mental Health Chatbot that provides users with a safe, confidential space to share their thoughts. The chatbot offers mindful tips, coping strategies, and mood check-ins, helping users reduce stress, build resilience, and encourage self-reflection. This project reflects my commitment to using technology as a tool for well-being and accessibility, giving individuals private support when they may not feel comfortable seeking it elsewhere.

AI Learning Platform designed specifically to support students with dyslexia. The platform includes assistive features that help dyslexic learners engage with AI and technology in a more accessible way. By combining inclusive design with education in emerging technologies, this project demonstrated how innovation can bridge gaps in learning, ensuring that no student is excluded from opportunities to explore and thrive in the digital age.

Across all of these projects, whether through journalism, advocacy, or creative outreach, the common thread is my commitment to amplifying voices and creating impact. I see journalism not just as a career but as a calling: a way to document truths, challenge silence, and give platforms to stories that matter. My academic achievements and extracurricular leadership reflect this passion, demonstrating my drive to combine communication with social good.

I joined a global network of service-minded leaders dedicated to improving communities through volunteer work and ethical leadership. Rotary emphasizes values such as integrity, responsibility, and civic action, and being part of the club gave me the chance to experience those principles firsthand. Through service events and student-led initiatives, I contributed to projects focused on community support, leadership development, and ethical decision-making. Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self” deeply influenced me, showing how leadership is not just about guiding others but about serving with purpose. This experience strengthened my appreciation for civic responsibility and gave me a foundation in the values of community, ethics, and service that continue to guide my work today.

I was selected as the Speaker Head for my school’s TEDxYouth@DAA Executive Team for 2025–2026. In this role, I worked closely with the president and the speaker team to guide students through the process of creating and delivering their talks. I attended consultations, auditions, and planning meetings, and I helped restructure and edit speeches to make them clear, concise, and powerful. This role pushed me to stay aware of current events, think outside the box, and use my writing and communication skills in a new way. It also gave me the chance to support other students in finding their voice on stage, which connects directly to my passion for journalism and empowering others to share their stories.
